Begin It ! Travel Curiously

Whatever you can do or dream you can, BEGIN IT.  Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.” -Goethe |  Hello ! I’m Siobhan* MosaiX : Female : Nomad. As you can see from my first passport photo, I started traveling early and I ‘Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop’.  From bouncing between Belize and Brooklyn as a kid, to living in London as an adult with my family; including a toddler daughter. Fast forward to today, I sold almost everything and started my global nomad life. SUBSCRIBE and follow along as I share the world via the Meets + Eats + Deets! *Pronounce Siobhan?

Tourist to Local : I typically stay a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks per country, you’ll get a preview of what it’s like to live there! In addition to my travel diaries, I’ll share how to roam the globe in a frugal, yet comfortable, manner that still includes some luxuries!  I love to ‘travel curiously’, enjoying enlightening interactions with people, savoring unique cuisine, and observing what I call the ‘Unknown X’; the MosaiX of cultural details, the similarities and distinctions.

I’ve lived a diverse and well-traveled life. I was raised in Belize Central America, Brooklyn NY, and on a dairy farm in upstate Pennsylvania. My first trips to Europe were at age 13 and 15, but I really started racking up passport visa stamps when my ‘WASband’, 2 year old daughter Maya and I moved to London in 2000 due to his work. Upon our reluctant return to Dallas TX, our little one was 4 years old and had traveled with us to 24 countries; Maya even had her own Gold Frequent Flyer card!

2019 I started preparing to make my leap to nomad life. I sold off or donated 30+ years of worldly possessions, stored the most precious and moved out of my home on 29 February 2020; Leap Day, no coincidence! 4 March, I left Dallas with a one-way ticket to Guayaquil, Ecuador.  I started my first Wander having already visited 33 countries and excited to see more of the world!

I’m just one of other ‘BRONZEs’ traveling abroad and sharing their experiences. Maya is continuing on her own global path with 36 countries to-date.  As we inspire others, we hope their stories will be shared here as well.

NOTE ! I’m not a lottery winner. I’m a licensed health insurance agent. My nomad plan includes returning to Dallas every September through January to work Medicare Annual Enrollment. I’ll work remote the rest of the year and every February a new 7-month global Wander will start.

My original 2020 Wander of 6 Countries x 6 Months was Ecuador, Colombia, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, and Portugal. Well… a global pandemic changed those plans during my first month! As of 17 March I was COVID-locked in Ecuador. No transit by air, land or sea; in, out, or within the country. All part of an adventure that WILL continue one way or another.  Join the Tribe !
